Privacy Policy

Super Good Advice ("we", "us") is an app for tracking games, rating them and giving advice to other players. It is run by Nikita Volkonskiy, a private individual, who is responsible for your data (the data controller). This policy explains what data we collect in the Super Good Advice apps for iOS and Android and on sga.gg, why we need it, who helps us process it and how you can see, change or delete it. We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive your account identifier from them, your email (with Apple it may be a private relay address), your name if you share it and, from Google, your profile photo, which becomes your avatar until you change it. To be able to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account, we keep an Apple refresh token in encrypted form. For each signed-in device we keep a session (tokens are stored only as hashes), the platform and the app version.
- Profile. What you add yourself: username, display name, bio, avatar, profile cover, favorite games, platforms and genres, and store regions for prices.
- Your activity. Your library (games, statuses, finish dates), collections, ratings, advice (reviews), comments, reactions, answers to recommendation cards, reports and blocks.
- Connected accounts. If you connect Steam or PlayStation: your Steam ID or PSN online ID and account ID, the list of games you played, playtime and, for PlayStation, trophy progress.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications: a push token for your device, the platform, the app language and version — to remind you about releases from your backlog.
- Usage analytics. Which screens and features are used, app and OS version, device model, language, a device identifier (identifierForVendor on iOS, Android ID on Android) and an approximate location derived from the IP address. When you are signed in, these events are linked to your account. We use them only to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
- Technical data. Your IP address is used to protect the service from abuse: request counters are kept for about two minutes. Server logs contain the requested address, the response code and the timing, but not your IP, and are kept for a few days.
- Search. The text of a game search may be sent to an AI model to fix typos (for example, "witcher 3" for a misspelled title). It is not linked to your account.
We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos other than the avatar and cover you choose, payment data or sensitive personal data.
What other people can see
Your profile (username, display name, avatar, cover, bio, favorite games, platforms and genres), your public advice and comments, public collections and your library by status are visible to other users and on sga.gg. Your Steam and PlayStation blocks are visible unless you hide them in Settings. Private collections and advice marked "Only me" are visible only to you. Store regions are never shown to others.
Why we use it
- to run your account, library, profile and advice and show them in the app and on the website;
- to recommend games, show prices in your regions and remind you about releases;
- to import games from Steam and PlayStation when you ask for it;
- to keep the community safe: handle reports, hide abusive content, block abusers and prevent spam;
- to understand how the app is used and improve it;
- to answer your requests and to meet legal obligations.
Who processes your data
We use these services to run Super Good Advice. Each of them gets only what it needs for its job:
- Hetzner Online (Germany) — our servers and database.
- Cloudflare — domain names, storage of avatars and encrypted database backups.
- Apple and Google — sign-in and push notification delivery.
- Expo — push notification delivery and app updates.
- PostHog (EU region) — usage analytics.
- OpenAI — correcting the text of game searches.
- Valve (Steam) and Sony (PlayStation) — only if you connect your account, to read your games.
- Vercel — hosting of the sga.gg website.
- Supabase and Upstash — our previous database and cache, until we finish moving to our own servers in late 2026.
Game information comes from IGDB (Twitch); we don't send them your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law. Some of these providers are located outside the European Union; in such cases the transfer is covered by their standard contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, library, collections, advice, comments, reactions, connected accounts and sessions are deleted from our database immediately, and your Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked. Encrypted backups are kept for up to 30 days and then removed. Analytics events are kept according to PostHog's retention; we delete them on request.
Your choices and rights
- Change your profile, library and advice in the app at any time.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account, or without the app — see how to delete your account.
- Disconnect Steam or PlayStation in the app — the imported list is deleted.
- Turn off notifications in your phone settings.
- Turn off usage analytics in the app: Settings → Usage analytics. After that the app sends no analytics events and no device identifier.
- Get a copy of your data, ask us to delete analytics data or object to processing — write to sga@apparat.team. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK or California), you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
All connections are encrypted, sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes, backups are encrypted, and access to the servers and the database is limited to what each part of the service needs.
Children
Super Good Advice is not meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will publish changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
